Camping at Kusawa Lake.

Experiencing true silence in the wilderness is nearly impossible due to our industrialized era. In the Yukon, it felt relatively effortless to escape the noise of modern life and forget the burdens of society. Kusawa Lake provided the setting for selective audio inoculation from the conversations, joking, and laughter with friends during last year's May long weekend. While camping along the Takhini River, we ate delicious food, drank quality beer, sat around the fire and played dusty spike ball. On another one of the days, we hiked up Kusawa Ridge, where we lost the trail, meandered up the mountain, and eventually found our way to the top. This weekend outing was a favourite of mine while we were in Whitehorse, and I cherish the photos and memories with this group a lot.
