I enjoy macro photography, however, I sometimes feel that unless it is shared as a series or tied to a specific species or location it can feel dissonant and insignificant. In the genre there is often aesthetic beauty, however, it rarely goes deeper. I've expressed the importance of orienting our lives toward that which is Good, True, and Beautiful quite regularly and it is the pause in seeing our surroundings, that can push us into a deeper exploration of goodness and truth.

For me, observing details allows for moments where I see meticulous intricacy and assign intention to those forms. By pausing to spend our precious time seeing, that we may catch a glimpse of our reflection in what we witness. This invitation to participate is all around us, it is only a matter of starting to embrace the good, true, and beautiful in ourselves and others that can initiate this life-long pursuit.

I write these thoughts with a sombre heart, knowing that many who are reading this are currently experiencing various sociopolitical ramifications. My intention is not to brush over these real struggles but for this to act as an encouragement to see through the fog of fear. Know, all that is happening, even life itself, is temporary and we are responsible for how we participate. The inheritance we pass on should be one of abundance while confiding that the struggle for improvement is necessary for the feeling of fulfillment. To be considered caring or even whole people, I think our participation, in reality, is required.
