A representational photograph says, ‘This is what Vienna looked like.’ An interpretational photograph goes one better and says, ‘This is what Vienna was like. This is how I felt about it.

The retelling of events following a hiking trip is not an enjoyable task in my opinion. There are usually a handful of pinnacle events that occur but most of the time the lack of dramatic situations indicates successful planning and execution. Although I could narrate the events from the beginning to the end, I hope for my photos to aid in the recollection of memories and carrying the weight of storytelling. The images I share encompass a personal perspective on what occurred. If the photographs are of sufficient quality most of the story should be communicated from a viewing experience. Additionally, the sequencing or pairing of images can portray details incommunicable in the confines of carefully selected words.

To summarize, this trip with Isaiah, Jenna, Caleb, and Celine was lovely. Caleb proposed to Jenna and she said yes, we enjoyed conversations and each other's company while observing some of the best backcountry views I've seen, and on the hike out we descended by repelling down chains on the side of a cliff. The weather was impeccable and I am grateful for the ability and luxury to create such experiences with wonderful people.

I hope you enjoy the images I've included and I can not believe this calendar series of blog posts is almost complete. I'm unsure what or how I will proceed to share my work but I thank you all for the continued support.
